SUMMARY:Open Source Summit Japan 2019
DESCRIPTION:The CIP Project will be on-site at Open Source Summit Japan in Tokyo from July 17 – 19. The event is the leading conference in Japan that connects the open source ecosystem under one roof and provides a forum for technologists and open source industry leaders to collaborate and share information. CIP is a Gold Sponsor of the event and will also have several presentations including one for CIP as well as a few by CIP members. Please see below: \nOn Thursday\, July 18 at 4 pm\, CIP member Jan Kiszka\, Senior Key Expert at Siemens AG\, is giving a talk about “Building Products with Debian and Isar\,” where he will discuss experiences from using Isar for products and open source projects over the past 2 years. Add it to your schedule here: https://sched.co/OVsN \nOn Friday\, July 19 at 2 pm\, CIP TSC Chair Yoshitake Kobayashi\, Senior Manager of The Open Source Technology Department at Toshiba\, will lead a session titled\, “How to Make Smart Cities Stay Smart with Open Source Projects” that will showcase the impact of open source software\, an overview of CIP activities and its collaborative efforts with other OS projects such as Debian\, the ELISA Project and EdgeX Foundry. Add it to your schedule here: https://sched.co/OVrk  \nOn Friday\, July 19 at 2 pm\, CIP members Wolfgang Mauerer\, Senior Key Expert/Professor\, OTH Regensburg / Siemens AG\, and Daniel Wagner\, Senior Engineer\, Siemens AG\, will give a talk titled\, “Cyclic Tests Unleashed: Large-Scale RT Analysis with Jitterdebugger.” The talk starts with an introduction to architecture and usage of the jitterdebugger tool\, and will (of course) also address the question how it differs from the cyclictest tool suite. We will then discuss archival strategies for keeping recorded data reproducible in the long run (a non-trivial problem!)\, and discuss several types of statistical evaluation that are made possible by jitterdebugger’s new capabilities.
